car troubles....
...so Birdley is further away from work than Birdyville was, and so the driving to work is non negotiable. There are two routes; 11 miles along an A road, or 18ish miles along a winding country road.
In the morning - route fairly clear. I go the shorter route - currently pootling at 40, due to roadworks.
On the way home, I usually go the winding route, as the traffic is moving that way, or the shorter route rather slowly. So this is the question - is it better to go longer and quicker, or slower and shorter? Cost of petrol is one thing, but I'm also interested in emissions. Any science out there?
