you're unbelievable....

...I was incredulous to read in the Guardian this morning that 14% of British people have no interest in politics. No interest in politics! How does that work? Rightly or wrongly, politics impinges on every aspect of our lives, and to be disinterested astounds me. I can imagine choosing not to engage with it, I can understand having a fairly minimal interest as you believe your vote doesn't really count. But to not be interested? How does that work?

In the run up to the last election there was much postulating about getting people to vote and it seems like an almost impossible task. But all I can think is that while someone may feel it doesn't make a difference, you never know and it might do - to me a chance worth taking.
