A public service announcement....

....when you get home from work, rather weary and short of temper, and you make a butterbean chilli, and you get to the point of adding the tin of tomatoes and discover you don't have any, half a glass of red wine and a load of tomato puree does the job very nicely.

I couldn't believe I didn't have any tinned tomatoes. It was as if there was a warp in the fabric of the universe. Of all the things which should be relied upon in my kitchen, is the presence of tinned tomatoes. The world is a strange strange place.
