... because if I did it would be in grave danger of being 'got' after I read this news article about how children shouldn't be brought up as vegetarians and vegans.

I imagine its hard work to bring a child up as a vegan, but why that should be any harder than trying to find good quality food of any kind I'm not sure. But even if it was true, this research is among the most offensive I've ever seen. Experimenting on malnourished children in Africa? How is this even slightly ethical? I appreciate a need to make limited resources go further and doing whatever will have the best health outcomes for these children. But I can't believe this is the right thing to be doing.
