The author of your life...

...one of the regular discussions my bookgroup has is about who is the author of your life - either that week, or on an ongoing basis. The only consensus is that for it to be Thomas Hardy is a Very Bad Thing. Because if Thomas Hardy is the author of your life, guaranteed are you to be unlucky in love, poor, and if your name starts with a T, dead.

I suspect the author of my life is Oscar Wilde. I can't quite put my finger on why - perhaps its the witty quotes (which are either fitting, or share my views put in a more erudite and concise way) perhaps its because we're both funny (yes I mean haha - and humour me, I'm poorly)
