As a true...
...lentil eating Guardian wearer I'm partial to the odd lentil. I do have the finest lentil dahl recipe in the world, and I defy you to do anything other than love my lentil cottage pie.
I worry though about food and where it comes from - I'm planning on posting more about that soon but I was so excited when I found lentils from Canada at the healthfood stall on the market. I'd always imagined lentils came from a developing country and I was really concerned about the conditions for the workers. Now I know that there are global problems with work and labour to which Canada is not immune. I know there are issues with transporting food for hundreds of miles. But I doubt you can get them from Europe so I guess its a start.
